Patricia Hendricks Shihan, (currently 7th Dan, Iwama style).
Hendricks Shihan spent more than 7 years as an uchideshi under Morihiro Saito. She is the founder of Aikido of San Leandro, leads division one (the Iwama division) of the California Aikido Association, and is the first "menkyo kaiden" in Saito's system of aiki-ken and aiki-jo. Hendricks Shihan is one of the most prominent female aikidoka in the world.
This demonstration includes empty-handed techniques and a range of weapons applications (tachi-dori, tachi-nage, multiple attackers with tanto (knife), kumi-jo, jo-nage, jo-dori) and randori (multiple attackers). Her demonstration uses both wooden swords and a live blade.
